What does the word ‘home’ mean to you?

We noticed that there’s a lot of “coming home” going on around here. Birds that left for the winter, such as geese, ducks and red-winged blackbirds are coming home. We also noticed “snowbirds” are coming home – people returning from where they spent winter in warmer climates.

How do you navigate the potholes?

Doug asked, “What season is it?” I answered, “It’s spring, of course”. Then he suggested, “Well you are technically right but it’s also ‘pothole season’.” I agreed because of a recent experience I had as I drove home from our office. The car ahead of me was dodging and weaving on the road. I wondered if the driver was okay and I worried if he’d had too much to drink or was having a health problem.

We realize this is a special week for people of different religious faiths. This got us wondering about the question of what faith means to people. What does faith mean to you? We recognize that whatever you call your Higher Power, there are several benefits of having faith.

What does being “all in” mean to you?

Are you “all in”? Recently, we have been hearing a lot about being “all in”. Our church has been encouraging people to be “all in” with giving of their time, energy and commitment in order to make a positive difference in the community and around the world.

Change your focus – change your life!

What do you focus on? We got to thinking about this question as we took a walk recently. Maybe you have been feeling, as we have, that we’re a bit tired of winter. We realized there are the dregs of winter still remaining with snow that looks like it has been hit by a soot storm. These dirty snow piles can really look depressing if you focus on them. So we decided to change our focus.

How is your life journey? We often hear the saying coined by Nissan, “Life is a journey – enjoy the ride.” While that is true, we prefer to say, enjoy the drive, because you are not just a passenger along for the ride, you are actually in the driver’s seat. You get to make choices and be in control of where you go and what you do on your life journey.
