Let’s be thankful for our freedom every day!
What does the 4th of July mean to you? What celebrations will you be having? We remember parades where we helped our children decorate bikes and wagons and all the other activities of the holiday. Will you have a picnic or barbecue? Maybe you’ll enjoy fireworks.
How stories we tell ourselves can shape our lives
How are stories important for your life? There are many ways that stories play a part in our lives. We got to thinking about this subject when we did a talk recently on the ways stories affect our lives. We tell ourselves stories about things that happen to us and then those stories can shape our lives.
The power of passion and purpose!
What are you passionate about? We hope you have something you feel passionate about because passion can make life a lot more fun and may even lead to finding your life purpose! Lately we’ve noticed lots of cars pulling boats to the lakes. People are passionate about getting out on water! That got us thinking about the meaning of passion.
Congratulations! Carver County is Happiest County again!
How happy are you? We hope that you are generally happy. What got us thinking about this subject is that SmartAsset.com announced findings from the World Happiness Report, that Carver County ranked as the happiest county out of 980 counties in the United States with a population of at least 50,000. Congratulations, Carver County residents!
Nurture your dreams to grow and blossom!
Do you have dreams that have grown from a tiny seed of an idea? What seeds of dreams are you wanting to grow? What got us thinking about this subject is that, as we were planting our little geranium plants, we thought about how someone planted seeds so they could grow. They were cared for and they have grown some. Now it’s our responsibility to nurture them further so they can bloom even more.
Good deeds are also good for you!
Would you like to do something good for yourself? Hopefully, you would say “yes”! You can get some pretty good feelings from being kind to yourself. Now, we’ll ask, would you like to do something good for someone else? Probably “yes”, but it may seem a bit harder to do. After all, you’re busy and not sure what to do.
Help curb an alarming, silent epidemic!
Do you feel lonely or do you know someone who feels lonely? Chances are you can say yes to at least one of those questions, if not both. What got us thinking about a problem that’s not talked about a lot is that we heard a sermon on loneliness by Pastor Aaron Werner last Sunday.
